No More Heroes Dev Announces 'Psychological Action Thriller' Shadows of the Damned
by Alice O'Connor, Sep 15, 2010 5:48am PDTThe prospect of No More Heroes director Suda51, Resident Evil creator Shinji Mikami and Silent Hill sound director Akira Yamaoka working together on a game is jolly exciting, which is why we're bouncing up and down at today's announcement of Shadows of the Damned at the Tokyo Game Show.
Described as a "psychological action thriller," Shadows of the Damned stars "hard-as-nails, leather-clad, motorcycle-riding professional demon hunter" Garcia Hotspur on a mission to rescue his true love from demons in the depths of hell. Rather than asking politely, naturally, Garcia will be blasting through demons and solving puzzles.
"The over-the-top action sequences and intense boss battles that both Suda51 and Mikami are renowned for creating" are promised, set to a Yamaoka soundtrack. Lovely.
Developed by Grasshopper Manufacture and published by Electronic Arts, Shadows of the Damned is scheduled for release on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 in summer 2011.
