Report: Duke Nukem at PAX 2010
by Xav de Matos, Sep 03, 2010 4:40pm PDT[Update: 12:09pm] It's official! Read all about it, here!
[Update: 11:45am] Images from the PAX 2010 show floor have appeared online [via Pikimal] revealing Duke Nukem Forever, branded with 2K and Gearbox logos. Duke Nukem Forever, it is!
[Original: 11:40am] The legendary and chronically late action-hero, Duke Nukem is reportedly being re-introduced to fans at PAX.
Multiple sources indicate that Duke will make an appearance in some form, including a stray PAX 2010 show-floor tweet from Ska Studios' Dustin Burg. Although Duke Nukem signage is reportedly surrounding the 2K booth in preparation for the show to begin, its unclear if 2K is prepping a re-introduction to Duke Nukem Forever or a rumored "Duke Begins" title.
According to "US dev sources" at CVG, however, 2K Games will reveal the game first revealed in April 1997, Duke Nukem Forever.
Moments ago, 2K Games just tested its live stream of its PAX 2010 booth--which begins at 10 a.m. PT--teasing that it was unable to show the booth off for the moment. 3D Realms' George Broussard tweeted that he wants Duke Nukem's name to trend on Twitter along with the crashing of 2K's live stream, presumably out of excitement and not because of his previous legal battles with the company. "
Earlier this week, Broussard also tweeted an image of pigs flying, presumably a call back to a January 2006 interview with 1UP that Forever would see a release when swine sprouted wings.
Adding fuel to the growing fire was a tweet from Gearbox creative director Mikey Neumann featuring CEO Randy Pitchford wearing a Duke Nukem-inspired t-shirt, which was subsequently re-Tweeted by Broussard . Recently, rumors surfaced that Gearbox would helm Duke's missing adventure.
When the truth is uncovered, Shacknews will provide you with all the M-Rated details.

I'd have a hard time hating any developer for making a PC port less than it can be, but forgiving developers who should know better and who were MADE by the PC platform when they abandon it completely. I only have so much hate and I save it for the developers and publishers (Microsoft) who do everything in their power to see the PC platform die a slow, horrible, desperate death.
And Gearbox did work to fix most of the Borderlands problems, unlike some developers of PC ports. All in all, nothing here to hate, imo. Dislike, sure. Rant about, of course. Hate? How much hate do you have?
