Haters Gonna Hate

Just got back from Scott Pilgrim. Went in with low expectations and was pleasantly surprised. Movie was funny and entertaining. Not sure what the haters were expecting from it. Yeah Michael Cera fatigue, but I knew he was in it beforehand and he was perfect for the part ( although that girl being interested in him wasn't believable )

Also I really enjoyed a movie shot in Toronto that wasn't trying to hide that they were in Toronto. Refreshing.

Does anyone know of any really good history specials that say.. the BBC or PBS have done? I want to learn more about Ancient, Medieval and Early Modern history and I was hoping there were some good history films/specials that went into greater depth than the typical surface crap you usually get on the History Channel. Anyone got recommendations?

Any source, hopefully of a longer length.. like a series length or something. That would be most excellent. Just general history from an era.. like the general history of ancient Mesopotamia, or Greece or Rome or Asia.

Ok, this is bullshit. IOS 4.1 update failed, and it appears my 3GS is bricked. The second it's connected to the PC, it tries to start up, then iTunes gives me an error - 'Itunes has detected an iphone in recovery mode. You must restore this iphone before it can be used with itunes.'

Ok, swell. Apps, music, everything... fuckered for now. Now, to restore...

Powered device off, disconnected it from the computer. While holding the home button, connected it. itunes launches, flashes something about connecting to apple servers or something, then I get the same error.

What can I do here? Anything?

I want to limit my internet use.

I'm looking for a hardware solution because I have no self-control. I waste so much time on the internet, and I don't lead a balanced life at all.
I made a ruleset, and I generated a random router password, made no attempts to copy it or memorize it, then gave a little printout to my girlfriend, along with instructions to not return it until mid-september.

Unfortunately I've found simple ways around it. Mac address fakery, or changing my ip address (this shit router does not allow you to mac-address-filter wired connections, only wireless).
What firmware or router has the most comprehensive access restriction rules? This WRT54GS version 6 is a crippled piece of shit, but I've been reading up on the other popular firmwares (tomato, etc) and they all still seem lacking.

Can something allow me to deny traffic to all mac addresses but one?
To mac-address-filter to allow only certain mac's on not only wireless, but wired connections, to prevent me from circumventing my own system? The girl still needs access to the internet with her laptop, so flat out disconnection is out.

Anything that can monitor time usage at urls and ration you out time? Like 30 minutes per day? Past certain times of day?

This is designed to deny me access to certain forums, news sites, porn sites, game sites, and whatnot. I could never block Shacknews... But could I ration it?
I find myself on the internet far too late. I should be trying to unwind.

Any effortless work-around (a hardware reset of the router is something that I would consider both too humiliating and a pain in the ass) makes this useless to me.

I told this asshat I was going to bitch about him on the net after our gam and since I am a man of my word...

What possess someone to not surrender when youv've clearly lost? I just had a game take almost two hours (reported not actual) because i'd contained a turtle Terran to the point where he'd mined out his 3 expansions and I held the rest of the map. His last attempt to break the contain hurt my economy pretty well but I still had drones and there were minerals left on the map. He'd built a ton of static defenses around his choke with bunkers and tanks but had no where near enough to win the game.

The asshole then proceeds to say he can't surrender due to pride and that he's gonna grab chips and watch me chip away at his base. He'd been a decent opponent until then but his refusal to gg was pretty shitty. I didn't give him the satisfaction of a bunch of tears --just made it clear he was a douche and had a smoke while zerging his base up.

I hate people sometimes.

A week ago, the release of Plex 9 was teased. Then, the next day, they announced their iOS app that would allow you to seamlessly stream content from your Plex library to your iPhone, iPod Touch or iPad anywhere in the world, then switch it over to your TV/computer mid-playback.

Today they just announced that in 2011, LG will be shipping TVs and BluRay players that have a built-in Plex connectivity through a custom interface. This also means that the core Plex team can work on Plex full-time now. Who needs Apple TV?
