StarCraft 2 Sells 3 Million Copies in First Month
by Alice O'Connor, Sep 01, 2010 5:43am PDTAfter selling one million copies on launch day, StarCraft II: Wings of Liberty went on to sell over three million copies worldwide in the first month of sale, Blizzard has revealed.
"We appreciate all the enthusiasm that players around the world have shown for StarCraft II," said Blizzard CEO Mike Morhaime. "It was important to us to deliver an overall gameplay experience that was accessible, balanced, and fun, and it's been gratifying to see how strongly the global community has already embraced the game."
Half of the three million sales were made in StarCraft II's first 48 hours of sale alone, which Blizzard says set "the record for fastest-selling strategy game of all time."
StarCraft II: Wings of Liberty was released for PC and Mac on July 27. The other two instalments of Blizzard's StarCraft II trilogy, the Zerg-focused 'Heart of the Swarm' and Protoss-centric 'Legacy of the Void,' will follow further down the line.

Starcraft 2 is actually free in Korea, meaning that you can still play it as a beta version, or you can play it anyways if you have a running WOW subscription.
Blizzard announced that SC2 beta in Korea would last at least 1 more month and that even after that players who have an active WOW subscription can play Starcraft 2 for free.
So A BIG BIG NO, SC2 3 million copies are mostly from NA and Europe(including Russia).
