      That magazine article drove Bruce Carver insane.
      
      I was in a meeting with him where six months before release, he wanted to redesign the entire game we were working on.
      
      I told him that given the staff that we had and the immovable release date that there was no way we could do it in six months.
      
      He turned to me and said, "Who the fuck are you? Are you a game god? What have you done?"
      
      I stood up, said that if we weren't going to be realistic, there was no point in me being in the meeting, and I left the room.
      
      I was terrified, but really proud of myself for at least standing up for myself. The game got canceled and Bruce Carver was basically run out of the studio after that and I started looking to leave Microsoft at that point, but still...
