Dragon Age: Origins - Awakening Available on Mac

3
BioWare has announced, via Twitter, that Dragon Age: Origins - Awakening is finally available for Mac gamers. A copy of the Mac version of the original Dragon Age: Origins is required.

BioWare has listed two sources to obtain a digital copy: GamersGate and GameTreeOnline, both of which sell the original title for Mac as well. Steam still does not carry the Mac version of the game or its expansion.

The expansion will run you $29.95.

Yeah, would be nice to see it get picked up into Steam and rolled into SteamPlay. Give it time...

EA is annoying with their Steam releases. It baffles me why games like Battlefield 1942 and The Sims 3 aren't on Steam or why all of their Mac releases aren't on there either.

I think EA will put it on when Valve stops requiring the titles to be SteamPlay.

From what I read, It seems like a lot developers and publishers are against offering the two versions for one price.

I distinctly remember Civilization IV being listed separate for a while until the publisher decided to make steam-play. The fact that most of the Mac titles on steam are Steam-play doesn't mean they all have to be. Is Steam-Play really that bad for their bottom line they still sell a copy of the game and allow the customer flexibility as to how to play that game.

It looks better to have a game Steam-play for the consumer but the publishers aren't forced to release it that way. This is EA issue plain and simple.

I don't think that's it, at least in regards to EA. The retail copy of Sims 3 is both Windows and Mac in the box.

Then again, EA is erratic, so who knows.
