The 3rd Birthday Terrorizing PSP this Winter in Japan, 'Soon After' for the Rest of the World

The next installment in the Parasite Eve series may launch worldwide sooner than we initially suspected, as the game is already in localization for markets outside of its native Japan.

Speaking with VG247, producer Yoshinori Kitase revealed that the Japanese version The 3rd Birthday will launch "winter this year" in the Land of the Rising Sun.

Although Kitase could not specify a release for the rest of the world, he said the PSP title was already undergoing localization and hopes for a worldwide launch "sometime rather soon after the Japanese release." Kitase would confirm that the game will see release within 2011 for the rest of the world.

Additionally, earlier this week series character designer Tetsuya Nomura noted on Twitter [via Siliconera] that he would like to see the original titles in the series make their way to PSN's PSone Classics library before the release of The 3rd Birthday.

If that is part of the plan, then Square Enix better hurry up as the candles on this birthday cake will be blown out in only a few short months.

I sold my PSP recently. There's just NOTHING going on there.
The new "downloadable" games are a joke, and the hardware is seriously underpowered.

Yeah, I agree. Only having God of War, Valkyria Chronicles, Kingdom Hearts, Metal Gear Solid, and Patapon this year has been the definition of "nothing." Sony should really try to get some decent games to come out on the system for a change.

So, 5 (so-so) games in an entire year is plenty. of the 5 you mentioned, only 3 are any good.
        3 a year.
