Elemental 'Day 0' Patch Now Available on Impulse
by Xav de Matos, Aug 25, 2010 8:30am PDTAlthough its only been available for a day, Stardock has added a slew of new content and fixes to its fantasy turn-based strategy title, Elemental: War of Magic.
Users who purchased the game at retail now can download the "Day 0" patch via developer/publisher Stardock's Impulse digital delivery client. The patch adds new spells, a "Faction Editor" and additional mod tools. The release also fixes a bevy of issues, including tweaks to Elemental's AI and fixes for multiple crash bugs. Full patch notes are available on the official Elemental forum.
According to BigDownload, the 4X (explore, expand, exploit, and exterminate) fantasy strategy title will have its online component activated next week, as the feature is currently unavailable. A free content pack and a demo for the game are both due in September.

I've not played after the most recent, but:
Each time it patches it's gotten noticeably better.
As I have learned the systems - it has gotten noticeably better.
One of the strengths and weaknesses with it is that there are so many options. You sorta have to say "this time I want to try for this" and go after it. - otherwise, it just takes too long.
Kinda like how I play Morrowind or Oblivion.
I've had fun ... I am sure the game will be more fun down the line.
If you have extra cash & time, it's worth trying out.
