Plants vs. Zombies continues to sprout on new platforms, as PopCap has just revealed the popular tower defense-style title will make its way to the Nintendo DS next year.

Launching in January 2011, the Nintendo DS version will include all of the content of the original release, "as well as new and exclusive game content." Shacknews has sent its zombie investigators to the PopCap lawn to find out if the Nintendo DS version will also include the Game of the Year edition's "Zombatar" enemy creator. Although, based on the press releases' wording, the inclusion of GOTY content seems unlikely, we really just needed to get that rabid pack of undead reporters out of the office.

Plants vs. Zombies on the Nintendo DS carries a suggested retail price of $19.95 and is currently available for pre-order at GameStop.

Xav de Matos was previously a games journalist creating content at Shacknews.
