Morning Discussion
by Xav de Matos, Aug 20, 2010 5:00am PDTI always seem to enter bouts of hardcore portable gaming at random times. I'll go weeks forgetting about my consoles or PC and focus on playing games on my Nintendo DS or PSP Go.
Lately, I haven't touched either handheld system but with God of War returning the PSP, I foresee that will change very soon.
I own an iPhone and I've purchased a lot of games for it but I never really use the device for gaming. There's some great software available, don't get me wrong, but I just don't use it. Maybe it's because I'm still stuck in the dark ages with a 3G and it runs like a pirate with a peg leg or because the battery is terrible after years of constant iPod use but it's rarely my portable gaming platform of choice.
What device fuels your portable gaming urges?

Devblog 1 of 2 has arrived talking of some load changes on the tranquility server. Namely, a lot of nonessential calls to the location node (which is also the sol node itself) are slowly getting offloaded to other nodes. This is similar to how the market system runs outside of the sol node. http://www.eveonline.com/devblog.asp?a=blog&bid=782 . There is yet another devblog to be posted today, so keep watch out for it and I'll also post here when I spot it.
In other news, if you are an api developer, please take a moment to review how api calls are handled. There is threat of blacklisting soon if too many invalid api keys are submitted. http://www.eveonline.com/ingameboard.asp?a=topic&threadID=1371652 . This mostly affects web work such as those related to api locked message boards than standalone clients, but still useful to know.
