Gran Turismo 5 Gets Course Creation and Kart Racing

Gran Turismo creator Kazunori Yamauchi isn't ever going to be satisfied with the amount of content in Gran Turismo 5. The latest example of his insatiable desire to add more to the game comes with word that Gran Turismo 5 will be getting a course creation mode and kart racing.

According to Kotaku, the course creator "lets you build a custom racetrack based on a set of parameters. Players can select a theme, choose the number of sections and course type (one way or loop), weather, time of day and length."

Kart racing is exactly that: go-kart racing. Some video from the Gamescom 2010 show floor has emerged, showing off the new mode in Gran Turismo 5. Thankfully, there don't appear to be any power-ups.

Luckily, Sony has actually convinced him to stop adding things and actually release the game in November. We think.

jesus. Stop adding shit and just release the fucking thing. It can have all the features in the world but if it never comes out it doesn't matter.

Yup, this should have been Gran Turismo 6 or 7 they are releasing now. If they just locked down the features at some point and finished it up. We could have seen 2 or 3 high quality fully featured racing games by now. (Well... I guess we already did.. Forza 2 and Forza 3...)

The irony of this is that if they released the game now, and then tacked this on in a month with DLC, everyone would cry that it should have been in the game from day 1.

I remember when they planned on letting the PSP be used as a rear view mirror.
