Report: APB Developer Enters Bankruptcy

17
Develop is reporting that APB and Crackdown developer Realtime Worlds is "on the brink of closure" and that operations have been handed off to an administration firm that will attempt to secure further investment to save the studio.

If further investment cannot be secured, it is likely that the independent developer will close and that APB will be its final game. It is unclear what will happen to the game's servers and operation if this were to occur.

This follows last week's rumors that the studio had scrapped the recently revealed Project: MyWorld and was looking to sell off APB. The cancellation of Project: MyWorld and the scrapping of the project's team was confirmed last week.

Though it could not confirm numbers, Develop reports that as many as 170 staffers have been let go, with around 50 remaining on during the administration period by the Begbies Traynor Group.
