Four new species will battle for control of a galaxy far, far away in the upcoming Bioware MMO, Star Wars: The Old Republic.

Today, the game's official blog revealed the four new playable species: the original badass, red-skinned Sith Pureblood; the Miraluka, a blind race that uses the power of the Force to see; the Mirialans, a green-skinned alien with strong natural agility; and the Darth Maul lookalike race known as the Zabraks.

Initial testing for Star Wars: The Old Republic is currently in progress. The MMO is set to launch in spring 2011.

Would be good if they go with an eventual graphics upgrade scheme like EVE Online.
