Puzzle Quest 2 Coming to PC on August 12 [Updated]

[Updated: 08/09/2010] Infinite Interactive confirms that August 12 is the North American release date for Puzzle Quest 2. Other regions will receive the game on August 13.

[Original Story] The true sequel to Infinite Interactive's popular Puzzle Quest series is finally coming to PC. Today, Valve added Puzzle Quest 2 to digital library with a release date of August 12 on the books; however, there is some confusion as to whether that release date has settled.

It appears that out of sheer excitement for today's PC announcement, Valve and Infinite Interactive has announced different release dates for Puzzle Quest 2. Valve originally listed the game for an August 17 release on its product page but changed it to August 12. On its news feed, however, the date is still listed as August 17. On the other side of the fence, developer Infinite Interactive's Twitter account lists the game for an August 13 release.

Our hope is the game will be available on August 12, because that (obviously) translates to less waiting for PC gamers. Currently, users who pre-purchase the game on Steam before its release--whenever that is--will receive 10% off its $19.99 purchase price.

Shacknews has contacted Infinite Interactive for clarification on Puzzle Quest 2's PC release but has yet to hear back at the time of publishing.

Yea, it's definitely a move back to what made the first game good, though I'm not impressed with the overworld navigation.

Maybe it'll be better on PC, but it's definitely clumsy and slow on both DS and 360. And I hate how much goddamn time the game spends autosaving.
