Electronic Arts has pushed the release of Crysis 2 into 2011, which will now be released during EA's fourth quarter of its 2010 fiscal year beginning on January 1, 2011. The move was announced as part of the company's disclosure of Q1 earnings, revealed today.

"We moved to the game to a better marketing window in the March quarter," said Jeff Brown, VP of corporate communications in a statement to IGN. "This will also give the Crytek team more time to polish a great title."

Crysis 2, in development for the PC, PlayStation 3, and Xbox 360, was originally scheduled to be released this holiday season during EA's third quarter between October 1 and December 31, 2010.
