Star Wars: The Force Unleashed 2 Executive Producer Haden Blackman Leaves LucasArts
by Jeff Mattas, Jul 29, 2010 4:30pm PDTHaden Blackman, producer and writer for Star Wars: The Force Unleashed, and executive producer for Star Wars: The Force Unleashed 2, tendered his resignation with LucasArts today, after thirteen years with the studio.
Blackman briefly explained his decision to IGN:
While the decision to leave LucasArts did not happen overnight or come easily, I really feel that now is the best time for me to move on and explore new creative challenges and I look forward to the next phase of my career.
A LucasArts representative also informed IGN that Blackman's departure won't affect The Force Unleashed 2's development.
Star Wars: The Force Unleashed 2 is currently slated for an October 26 release on PC, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Wii, and Nintendo DS.

It's a damn shame too. The Star Wars universe is ripe for incredible games. There is no reason a SW class based team multiplayer game couldn't be as fun as TF2. Or a bounty hunter game set in that universe where the player can choose their contracts and take the game in different moral directions couldn't be as memorable as Mechwarrior 2 Mercenaries. The list goes on and on.
