Activison Enlists Nintendo DS for 'Companion' Call of Duty: Black Ops Title

By Xav de Matos, Jul 28, 2010 12:00pm PDT When CIA-backed operatives dive onto PC and consoles in Call of Duty: Black Ops this November, a "companion" title on the Nintendo DS will land behind enemy lines to join the fight at retail.

Developed by n-Space, Call of Duty: Black Ops on the Nintendo DS will feature the expected level of military-based action, from "taking the controls of an attack helicopter to flying an experimental stealth fighter jet."

The handheld title will include six-player online multiplayer along with a new Perks system and a "unique two-player co-op mode" as well as arcade and challenge modes. Our money on the "unique" element for the "two-player co-op" mode? Splitscreen. How hardcore would that be on Nintendo DS?

Call of Duty: Black ops is scheduled to hit the PC, Xbox 360, PS3 and Nintendo DS on November 9, 2010.
