30-Minute, Live-Action Ghost Recon: Future Soldier Prequel Film Teased
When it first announced the franchise's new direction, Ubisoft revealed that a 30-minute live-action film prequel for Ghost Recon: Future Soldier was in the works. Today, a teaser for the film--titled Ghost Recon: Alpha-- was made public by GameTrailers after debuting at Comic-Con 2010. You can watch the teaser after the jump.
The film, like Ubisoft's Assassin's Creed: Lineage YouTube series, is being developed to promote the franchise to a broader audience. Ghost Recon: Alpha is being directed by Academy award-winners François Alaux and Hervé de Crécy (for the animated short Logorama) and written by Children of Men scribe Tim Sexton and Logorama writer Gregory Pruss.Ghost Recon: Alpha is set for a 2011 release, presumably alongside the recently delayed Ghost Recon: Future Soldier. Ubisoft has yet to reveal how it plans to release the full film; however, we anticipate its eventual release won't be as stealthy as the soldiers it's out to promote.
