            Understood, but just Steam itself is a form of DRM. If it weren't then I would be able to play my Steam-purchased games without Steam running (and publishers probably wouldn't allow their games to be on it).
            
            As it stands now I believe if you own Civ4: Complete from a disc you have no DRM but the purchased-from-Steam version still needs Steam to be running, logged in, etc.
            
            Bottom like to me though is - if Steamworks makes publishers likely to put out a PC port of their game whereas they might not have before, then I'm all for it. I understand why Impulse is so against it but that's not important to me.
