Street Fighter III: 3rd Strike Online Edition Announced
by Alice O'Connor, Jul 26, 2010 7:00am PDTStreet Fighter III: 3rd Strike is to return in a downloadable 'Online Edition,' Capcom producer Yoshinori Ono announced this weekend during a panel at Comic-Con 2010.
Almost nothing is known of the title at this point. Ono explained that Capcom is "going to take [its] time to bring this out," saying that it is "not going to come out in the immediate future, but just let everyone know that Street Fighter 3 is coming back."
Capcom has confirmed to Eurogamer that it'll be a "downloadable title." One imagines that, as with the downloadable revamps Marvel vs. Capcom 2 and Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix, it'll likely be released via Xbox Live Arcade and PlayStation Network and similarly boast improvements such as fancy online multiplayer.

I didn't play 3S but I understand that it was pretty unbalanced? Well, with everyone's constant moaning about how unbalanced SF4 was, and the attention that's been paid to addressing those concerns with the changes in SSF4 (and also how well-received those changes were), it would logically follow that 3S might get a similar treatment. I'll bet some kind of HD Remix-style visual upgrade is on the cards too.
