That's around where I got a bit bored too. The game really screams for co op.

you can always go back to Diablo 3

Torchlight didn't have the atmosphere that the Diablo games had. Even though I got bored with Torchlight fairly quickly I'm hopeful Diablo 3 will be different.

More like it lacks the complex skill system, class interactions in multiplayer, and loot system. The atmosphere isn't what kept people in D2 for 1000s of hours, great as it was.

i think theres a 1000 things that made Diablo 2 what it was, which is why it is so hard to clone LOL

Torchlight had wonderful atmosphere. It was just not Diabloesque.

Torchlight's problem (for me at least) is that you pretty much spam one ability the whole game and have to deal with a HUGE amount of crap loot. The game had zero depth.

I got bored of that game a lot sooner than Torchlight.

I thought Torchlight was a better game, actually.

True. That's a good point. I never really played much co-op because of the logistical difficulty of finding people to play with and keeping it going over the length of the game.

it pretty much just ends up being a potion fest, which was lame.

i think i got to 20 something. eventually i had found or crafted such good stuff that i wasn't ever getting anything good enough to replace it, and that kind of took a lot of the appeal away.

      Hijack:

What do you think Diablo 3 will do in terms of identifying items? Because that was my least part in torchlight because there was a lot of shit items in torchlight that dropped constantly.

Maybe in d3 they'll have knowledge tomes that let you automatically know what a certain class of item is. Like if my barbarian buys an axe tome he will automatically know what the axes are unless you get up to a gold class o weapon. Then you might need Cain's help.

I'm so friggen excited for Diablo 3 dudes. :(
