Dead Space Universe gets new Animated Film and Graphic Novel this Winter

It's a good thing that, in space, no one can hear you scream as EA has announced two new frightening spin-off projects in the Dead Space universe for release this winter.

Coming in December, EA will release a graphic novel based on the "Dead Space canon" called Dead Space Salvage, followed by a new animated film called Dead Space Aftermath in January 2011.

Aftermath outlines the Government's nefarious plot to send an "unwitting crew" to the site of the Aegis VII disaster, intending to expose the group to "Marker shards." The reason, EA's press release states, is to produce a "viable 'Marker blueprint' carrier, no matter the costs."

In the IDW published Dead Space Salvage graphic novel, a group comes across the abandoned Ishimura and, ultimately, face-to-face with Government agents and the deadly necromorphs. Government agents and necromorphs? That's not fair! At least you can reason with the necromorphs. Amirite?

Dead Space 2 is currently in development at Visceral Games and is scheduled to hit the PC, Xbox 360 and PS3 on January 25, 2011. More information on both projects is expected following the Dead Space 2 panel at Comic-Con 2010.

    Why is canon in quotes?

This is supposed to read "Dead Space canon" not Dead Space "canon."

      Apologizes.
