Report: Halo Reach Xbox 360 Bundle on the way [Update]

[Update: 9:25pm] Microsoft has confirmed the bundle is in the works. Check our updated story for additional details.

[Original Story] Ars Technica is reporting a limited edition Halo: Reach Xbox 360 hardware bundle is in the works. The bundle--also spotted in an image by HaloReachTips.net--includes a silver "S Model" Xbox 360 console, 250GB hard drive, two wireless controllers and a copy of Bungie's Spartan swansong, Halo: Reach.

The bundle is likely to release alongside Halo: Reach, which flies onto retail shelves on September 14.

Adding fuel to the Halo-branded fire is a silver Xbox 360 controller spotted by E4G on an Xbox.com product page. (The product page has now been removed.)

With two Halo panels planned at Comic-Con 2010, we're likely to hear if the rumored bundle is true very soon. We will note, however, that in the case of Halo and Xbox bundles history often repeats itself.
