EA Sports announced the next entry in its professional boxing Fight Night series will arrive in 2011. Currently in development at EA Canada, Fight Night Champion, aims to up the ante with improved visuals and a re-imagined single player campaign.

Player locomotion, stamina, and punching mechanics will all reportedly benefit from an improved physics-based animation system. A new control scheme called "Full Spectrum Punch Control" intends to deliver "the most realistic punching system ever seen in a simulation fighting game." Exact details on how this system will work have yet to be unveiled.

Fight Night Champion is slated for release in 2011 for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.

It better not suck like FNR4. They ruined the game with cartoony gameplay where they hit at 100mph and counter every punch.

UFC Undisputed showed them how it was done. If you want a boxing game go play that and just hit the punch buttons.

      or not.

The demo was crazy fast for FNR4, but that was using 140 lb fighters...who are fast. but I own the full game, and especially after the patches they released for it, it can be set up to play extremely sim-like or arcadey. I probably got more fun out of FNR3, until the patches, but FNR4 was still pretty solid and had a better cast, and now it actually plays better than round 3.

"If you want a boxing game go play that and just hit the punch buttons" is a pretty ignorant thing to say. It's about on par with someone saying UFC is the same as boxing, only with sloppy punching, kicks, and wrestling.

The biggest improvement would come from letting the damn game play out in real time. Just like Undisputed and MMA(from what i've seen). No parry nonsense and horsshIt counter slow down.
Thats not how boxing plays out. Just let it happen. Please!
