1. The in-game menuing systems most games use (Syphon Filter2 comes to mind), are overly difficult. To switch weapons, you'v got to hit the SELECT button, when the L1 or L@ button would be better since it's like 3-4 times bigger. Why can't we reconfigure the controls?
2. The thirdperson cam often clips through sides of mountains, walls, etc, showing textures and areas you shouldn't see. This is a level design problem in my opinion. Question: how was Tomb Raider able to pull it off so well? Answer: playtesting. There should be in-game tweaks to adjust the camera to the player's liking.
3. The dialogue and scripted sequences are often lame and bothersome. Too bad we can't shut them off altogether.
4. Again, the in-game menus are always on other screens, or buried amongst other menus. Why can't they use the transparent drop down menus that Half-Life made so popular?
I enjoyed Half-Life quite a bit, but I wonder how it's going to be redone. Will the designers go overkill on lensflares and effects, and forget about the basics? And if Half-Life is made well, will it be the only good game that is worth spending cash on? I see shelves of Playstation games that suck.
Thanks!

Does anyone know if the non-dual shock PSX1 controllers work on the PS2?
