New Call of Duty: Black Ops Screens Show Jungle, Snow

9
Treyarch's Call of Duty: Black Ops looks good. I was impressed with the game's graphics and environments back before E3 and these new screenshots are no different. The fidelity of the game has really benefited from using the Modern Warfare 2 engine, no doubt along with further improvements developed by Treyarch.

Be sure to view the full-sized images for a look at how much is going on in these screenshots. Call of Duty: Black Ops is set to be released on November 9 for the PC, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and Wii (though the Wii version won't look like this).

That's great. But can I change the FOV to 90 so that I don't vomit.

I think I've gotten so used to low FOVs in recent games it honestly hasn't been a problem for me in a long time.

i flat out refuse to buy games that won't allow changing the FOV to 90'ish. I tried playing Bioshock for a few hours but simply couldn't stand it. I put the game away for 6 months until they patched it. The list goes on.

Please reconsider. This is probably hurting the industry immensely.

      I AGREE 100000X

FOV is the BIGGEST MOST IMPORTANT Setting EVER in ANY game I play. I will never play a game with STUPID xbox habbit 65 FOW , those crappy console ports have.

Is there a good page with pictures that compares the two FOVs? I have no idea why you would vomit from the default one.

        Here is one comparison. ( http://teknogods.com/?p=131 )

And another one all on one image, game is Call of Pripyat though. ( http://i42.tinypic.com/zu2vib.jpg )

Smaller FOV means you see less, objects are bigger on screen. People get nauseated because you need to move more to see the same thing someone at high FOV does, and objects change position on the screen relatively faster since your view is closer..

We'll have to see if Mark Lamia holds the same opinions as Vince Zampella vocalized back on November 3, 2009.

"We would like you to play the game the way we designed and balanced it." -- Infinity Ward CEO Vincent Zampella, in a Best Buy chat session, November 3, 2009

"the way we designed and balanced it" and even the worse "the way the creators and balanced it" is such a lame argument and should only be applied to movies, not games. IW suck anyway
