Metro 2034 in Development

12
A sequel to 4A Games post-apocalyptic shooter Metro 2033 is in development, core games VP at publisher THQ Danny Bilson has told CVG, titled Metro 2034.

"We're going to be doing a 3D version of that on Metro 2034--the sequel," Bilson said while talking up the novel-based shooter's 3D support. One might imagine that it's based upon Metro 2033 novel author Dmitry Glukhovsky's sequel of the same name.

While Bilson did not explicitly state the developer, he did mention that Metro 2034 is being "built in Kiev"--where 4A Games just so happens to be located. There's no word on a release date or platforms either, though Metro 2033 came out on PC and Xbox 360.

Maybe by the time this comes out I'll finally have a computer able to run 2033 at max....

I hope they improve the voice acting at least. It was the one awful thing about 2033 that prevented the game from really sucking me in. The whole thing felt half-assed in terms of localization, a lot like S.T.A.L.K.E.R.

The shooting and everything else about it was spectacular though. Bad localization and bad voice acting can really bring an otherwise good game down.

Vocalization, you mean? Wait, what..? I agree with you, I think.

I actually think the voice acting was alright. Not A+ material, but then I don't think it needed it. At least they allowed you to put the Russian VO and subtitles to make it more atmospheric, but as for me, I feel subtitles ruin the experience more than -okay- grade voice acting.

My bad, I was under the impression that this game, like STALKER, was made in Russian first and then localized to the US. The voicing was so bad it seemed that way, at least.
