EVE Dev Unveils New Console Game Studio
by Alice O'Connor, Jun 29, 2010 6:20am PDTEVE Online developer CCP today announced it has opened a new studio in Newcastle, England, focused on console game development and assisting on DUST 514.
As well as working with CCP's Shanghai studio on DUST, "It will also be responsible for delivering advanced solutions for lighting, physics and artificial intelligence to CCP's console projects," says CCP, going on to boast that thanks to the Newcastle team DUST "will be the first console title using the Unreal 3 engine to feature fully dynamic lighting."
CCP Newcastle will also apparently "spearhead console-specific research and development, looking ahead to the next generation of videogame consoles" while "charting new paths for gameplay and business models that will breathe new life into connected consoles." Which all sounds very sensible.
In addition to the EVE tie-in console shooter DUST, CCP is known to be developing an MMORPG based upon White Wolf's table-top RPG universe World of Darkness--the setting for Troika's Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines--at its Atlanta studio.

Can they loan me a tenner? Because I just bought Minecraft which must cost 10000 times less to make than their console game.
