The first Portal 2 trailer has arrived, delivered by the kindly sciencemen of Apeture Science and developer Valve Software, to show that Apeture's science continues.

Valve announced today that Portal 2 will be released on PlayStation 3 in addition to PC and Xbox 360, confirming that its E3 surprise genuinely was "PORTAL-2-THEMED-FOR-GOD'S SAKE." The PS3 edition will pack Steamworks, it turns out.

Portal 2 was recently delayed from a planned 2010 holiday season release to 2011.

    That's disappointing that Valve's E3 surprise was Portal 2 coming to the PS3 :(

I was more surprised that Steam is going to be on a console.

I guess ask those that bought the orange box for 360.

I don't know, maybe don't suck? Worked for me at least.

It was perfectly playable on the 360, as was the entire Orange Box (with the possible exception of TF2, which I didn't play)

Agreed, I'd love to support Valve with my wallet on this but Portal is a PC game.

I bought TBO for 360 so my wife, a more casual gamer, could play since she doesn't like FPS games on PC (she finds the mouse too twitchy). We both played through Portal with a controller, and it worked more than fine. I didn't find quick reflexes to be necessary in Portal. It's not a typical action-oriented FPS; it's a puzzle game, one that gives you plenty of time to formulate plans and execute them. Playing through HL2 and the Episodes was trickier, but I just jacked up the sensitivity of the sticks and didn't have much trouble.

I managed. There was one level that gave me trouble, but that's about it.

seeing Gabe at Sony's conference and finding out that Steam services will be integrated is the surprise, I was shocked to see Gabe Newell.
