Star Wars: The Force Unleashed 2 Trailer - Saber Ballet

By Jeff Mattas, Jun 14, 2010 4:45pm PDT If the new cinematic trailer for LucasArts' Star Wars: The Force Unleashed 2 is to be believed, Darth Vader has run out of uses for his secret, saber-wielding apprentice. Queue a daring escape from an Imperial facility.

The trailer also reminds us that if you want something done right, you'd better get someone besides a stormtrooper to do it for you.

Star Wars: The Force Unleashed 2 is slated for an October 29 release on PC, PS3, Xbox 360, Wii, and Nintendo DS.

  • I hope they improve the gameplay. I resisted buying the first one on launch day, but after a few months, I eventually gave in to see what all the noise was about. Honestly, I wanted to like it but I couldn't. The graphics, euphoria, DMM were amazing but the gameplay was very dull. The first part had you playing as vader, where you would walk around at a snail's pace, and periodically find a wookie at which point you would mash your attack button.. The later parts were better, but not by much. The targeting was just horrendous, which really got in the way of you feeling like a badass.

  • In the good ending of the last game, Vader lives and the player dies. This is obviously the continuation of that plot, and obviously it's some time after that, where Vader has taken out a new clone of the hero, who has now become useless.

Very nice quality on the trailer, almost Avatar-level on the face animation and movements, but I still think his reverse grip on the lightsabers is kind of fruity in its attempt to stand out. Of course, he did block a few blaster bolts from that position, which was exactly what gamers said he shouldn't be able to do with his sabers behind his back, so that was a fun bit.
