Live and On-Demand Sports for Xbox 360 from ESPN

10
Microsoft and ESPN have partnered exclusively to bring "over 3,500 live and on-demand" sporting events from the NBA, MLB, College Football, College Basketball, and Soccer (no mention of World Cup).

"Most" of the content will be available in HD and free to Xbox Live Gold subscribers. While watching a game, viewers will be able to side with a team and see the split amongst the greater Xbox Live community.

During viewing, a ticker with scores is available from ESPN.com along with access to highlights from other sports and games.

All of this is controllable using a controller or using Kinect for motion or voice commands. Voice commands can be used to initiate view-controlled instant replays.

Versus and NBC are the ones with the NHL contract which is up after next year. So you'll have to wait until the next contract negotiations at the end of next NHL season.
