Rumor: Nintendo 3DS Hardware Details

12
Kotaku has a big rumor round-up and is claiming to have confirmed details on Nintendo's 3DS, which is set to be formally revealed at E3 next week.

Citing leaks from Chinese bloggers and FCC filing, Kotaku has compiled a mock-up of what it believes the 3DS will look like. Additionally, the blog claims to have confirmed that the 3DS will have both a d-pad and analog stick. The analog stick is supposedly more "stick" than "nub", comparing it to Sony's PSP.

A 3D camera from Sharp, believed to be responsible for the 3D screen, is also on the list, which "might be used to capture images in 3D dimensions or detect motions of the player." Speculation and insider reports also put the power of the handheld around that of the Wii.

E3 2010 begins next week. Nintendo's press conference is Tuesday morning and will be covered right here at Shacknews.

No shit. Trying to play MGS peace walker using the face buttons to aim is a joke.

Agreed, big opportunity wasted if they don't mimic recent system controllers.

BTW - That mock up is laughably bad, even more so that Fahey and Kotaku felt the need to tag it clearly as their own..

Also trying to play most of the 3D shooters that used the touch screen for aiming on the DS was pretty cumbersome, but at least fun for awhile. Metroid was the only game that got it half right though.
