by Chris Faylor, Jun 10, 2010 9:40am PDTThe four-player cooperative "Onslaught" mode for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 editions of Battlefield: Bad Company 2 will be available as an 800 Microsoft Point / $10 download beginning June 22, publisher Eletronic Arts and developer DICE have revealed.
Xbox 360 owners worldwide and PlayStation 3 owners in North America will be able to buy the add-on Tuesday, June 22, while European PS3 owners must wait until June 23.
In addition, a variety of "Kit Shortcuts" will be available for purchase beginning June 16 on Xbox 360 and European PlayStation 3s--North American PS3s getting them June 22.
These Kit Shortcuts are "for those players who don't have time to spend levelling up to unlock all the kit specific items but still want to be competitive with those who have unlocked everything," the companies explained in an accompanying blog post.
"The Kit Shortcuts will give you the unlocks available for kit each kit while still allowing you to progress through the ranking system as normal and will be available for 560 MS Points/$6.99 individually or if you want the whole bundle of kit shortcuts including the 7 available vehicle unlocks, 1600 MS Points on Xbox Live and $19.99/17.99€."
As for Battlefield: Bad Company 2 PC, DICE has previously said that "We aren't ruling out Onslaught on PC but at this time we are researching how to bring it to PC without affecting players who don't have Onslaught or their own server to run it on. "

It may be a low business practice, but no one is forcing anyone to buy the kit shortcuts.

But you are missing the point. Those who earned the upgrades don't have a choice because we are forced to play with people who bought them.
It sucks when people HAVE spent all the time levelling up and then get killed by someone who bought the game yesterday and bought all the upgrades. They might have MORE upgrades than a level 25 player who has focused on a couple of classes more than the others.
I think they should have a server option that blocks people who bought the kit shortcuts or only allows the ones they would have earned by now. So some servers it's all you can buy and others it's only what you've earned.
