Morning Discussion
by Alice O'Connor, Jun 10, 2010 5:00am PDTAs the weekend slowly approaches, prepare yourself for adventure with the brilliant music video for Losers - "Flush". Victorian stylings, cephalopods and monarchs as colossal bio-mechanical tanks. Truly the best of British. I'm told there's also some sort of soundtrack attached but I wouldn't know about that. Gawd save the Queen!
Personally I'm not thinking about the weekend at all, only the week of mega monster media mayhem that will follow--E3. I'll be running on USA time and no doubt barely sleeping but I'm feeling confident about it all. This should be a good E3 for Shacknews.

"When we played the first and second DX games, we looked at how you could customise your character and there were a lot of sliders that you could move through the levels, but often there wasn't enough impact or reward for upgrading the character.
"What we decided for this game was that we had to make it spectacular - we needed some reward. We needed, as soon as you used an augmentation, to pull the camera out into the third-person and let the player see what Jensen is able to do. And, to be honest with you, it's something that might reach a larger audience too - through being spectacular and giving reward it's a little less 'hardcore gamer'."
The game looks great but I hate when semi realistic games, or any fps really, goes from first to third person. It ruins the immersion for me. Third person is fine for extremely videogamey action games like Bayonetta but I hate the trend to add it to FPS games.
