      K, so I read one post a little. Upper half, below ribcage. Side is pretty important, and I didn't see an answer for that. Could be gall stones, which can be taken care of either with ultrasonic dispersion, or just removing the gallbladder altogether. Sucks, but TRUST ME, you do NOT NOT NOT want a stone getting lodged in a bile duct.
      
      A bit lower? Could be your appendix. That can also be removed. Very important not to wait, as it can rupture and turn in peritonitis. That can lead to sepsis (infection in the blood).
      
      Those are my two best guesses. If it is either of those, it is extremely important not to wait for treatment. Is surgery a possibility? Yes. Is it worth it? ABSOLUTELY.
