If you happened to miss the broadcast premiere of "A Short Film Made From Red Dead Redemption," or you simply want to experience it again, then you're in luck--Rockstar has released the entire thirty-minute short in digital form and it's viewable just below.

We've also put the 1.22 GB .WMV original on FileShack, if you'd rather a download.

Described by Rockstar as "a glimpse inside the life of partially reformed outlaw John Marston," the short was directed by Hollywood veteran John Hillcoat (The Road, The Proposition) and made "using only in-game assets and original camera work."

Over five million copies of the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 western game have been sold to retailers since its release three weeks ago, publisher Take-Two revealed today.

Chris Faylor was previously a games journalist creating content at Shacknews.

I kinda feel like i missed out now turning the music off. I'm playing the game now as a bad guy, but almost makes me want to replay it as a good guy with the music on.

Why would you ever turn the music off? The soundtrack is excellent.

I personally turn the music off every game I play. Doesn't matter how good it is.
Tends to remove me from the game. I'm sure it's great for RDR but when it comes out on the PC I doubt I'd bother checking it out... If it's that good perhaps I'll listen to some samples on YouTube instead...

I can see doing this for a game where it's just a bunch of pop songs you could hear anywhere, but a game with a fully orchestrated custom soundtrack? Seems odd...

This it the weirdest thing I've ever read. Turning music off in every single game you play?

        Makes no sense.

I turn off music too. I can't tell you how many times in L4D 2 that people have been hit by the Boomer puke because they couldn't hear him. Makes perfect sense to me.

The score in RDR is really very ambient and non disturbing, just like you I also turn down the sound or turn it off in many games.

Yeah, it's the whole "why am i hearing music?" If i was in a place where music was being played sure. But just hearing music out in the middle of nowhere? But i might just replay it with music this time.
