'A Short Film Made From Red Dead Redemption'

If you happened to miss the broadcast premiere of "A Short Film Made From Red Dead Redemption," or you simply want to experience it again, then you're in luck--Rockstar has released the entire thirty-minute short in digital form and it's viewable just below.

We've also put the 1.22 GB .WMV original on FileShack, if you'd rather a download.

Described by Rockstar as "a glimpse inside the life of partially reformed outlaw John Marston," the short was directed by Hollywood veteran John Hillcoat (The Road, The Proposition) and made "using only in-game assets and original camera work."

Over five million copies of the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 western game have been sold to retailers since its release three weeks ago, publisher Take-Two revealed today.

I kinda feel like i missed out now turning the music off. I'm playing the game now as a bad guy, but almost makes me want to replay it as a good guy with the music on.

The music in RDR is some of the best I have experienced. It's mostly incidental anyway. But I remember completing this one mission when all of a sudden this song broke out that was like something from a spaghetti western that was absolutely fantastic. I have to say it was one of the highlights of the game so far.

First thing that happens is protagonist rides up on a guy who is laying in the desert, moaning. The guy seems to be suffering from constipation (no apparent injury, no explanation for situation). Hero loads the guy into a covered wagon, and they ride off. WITHOUT THE GUY'S HORSE! He left his horse in the desert to escort a mysterious backed-up stranger into town.

I'll pass on the remaining 27:30.
