Rockstar Vancouver's action game sequel Max Payne 3 has been hit by another delay.

Publisher and studio owner Take-Two Interactive revealed the delay today within in its financials, noting "the launch of Max Payne 3 has been moved out of fiscal 2010." The company's 2011 fiscal year runs November 1, 2010 through October 31, 2011.

Initially due in "Winter 2009," the sequel was later postponed and scheduled for release between August 1 and October 31, 2010. Rumors that a delay was forthcoming surfaced earlier this year alongside allegations of poor working conditions at the studio.

[UPDATE] "While we do not take the movement of any title lightly," Take-Two CEO Ben Feder explained of Max Payne 3 in a conference call, "our recent success with Red Dead Redemption illustrates the importance and the benefits of giving a title the time that it needs in order to fulfill its potential in the marketplace. The team at Rockstar is focused on making this the best possible experience in interactive entertainment."

The company also noted it has yet to announce a new release window. [/UPDATE]

Might as well cancel it altogether, it's not even remotely Max Payne anymore.

hopefully it is delayed because they realized that making max payne older, balder and fatter, then putting him out in the sun was a retarded idea.

I'm hoping it got pushed back because Max still needs to finish his laundry, and because he needs more time to work on his diet as well.
