A torrent of media has arrived for Seven45's rhythm game Power Gig: Rise of the SixString, in the form of screenshots, gameplay footage, video tutorials and a good look at its instruments, including the controller which doubles as an actual electric guitar.

Seven45 also announced exclusive agreements with musicians Eric Clapton, Dave Matthews Band and Kid Rock for Power Gig. While the artists' tracks have yet to be fully revealed, the following gameplay trailer shows Clapton's iconic "Layla" is in the game.

More gameplay footage and a set of tutorial trailers follow below, starting with an in-game performance of "She's a Genius" by Jet.

"But how," you ask, "will I be playing those toe-tapping rock tracks?" The guitar element is handled by Power Gig's previously-revealed SixString controller, which also be used as a conventional electric guitar. Here's a tutorial explaining the basics.

As to how you play the SixString, there's another tutorial explaining that.

And if you want to use it as a regular electric guitar, why, just do as this explains.

As for the drums, those are played with the 'AirStrike' controller, a fancy wireless gizmo which means you strike air instead of loud pads. Here's the low-down.

And to play them, simply do as follows.

Power Gig: Rise of the SixString is headed to Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 in October.

17 and a half years of legit experience says - no. at most it'll teach you how to play along to simple tunes with a little kid sized instrument. unless you like the idea of looking like that dork in the video who didn't actually dare show his full face....

seriously, if you want to learn to play guitar go to a pawn shop - drop the same amount of money as you would on one of these game bundles, pick up the coolest looking thing that stays in tune and has a fixed bridge (DO NOT EVER get a cheap guitar with a whammy bar). then google powertabs and youtube basic lessons.
