Battlefield: Bad Company 2 'VIP Map Pack 3' Coming to Consoles Wednesday

The third "VIP Map Pack" for Battlefield: Bad Company 2 will hit PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 on June 9, maker DICE has revealed, bringing the Squad Deathmatch multiplayer mode to the Nelson Bay map and Squad Rush to Laguna Alta.

The add-on will be available free to those that bought the game new on PlayStation 3 or Xbox 360 and then redeemed the "VIP Code" included in its packaging. Those with a second-hand copy of the game, meanwhile, must pay a one-time fee of 1200 Microsoft Points / $15 for the "VIP Membership" needed to obtain the otherwise free content.

All PC players, meanwhile, will get the maps "after the release of the next update."

I really wish the multi in this game was better balanced along the lines of MW2. It's infuriating how uneven the game is for people who didn't get it on release

so when they release a real map pack (ie. not same maps with different modes) are they going to charge 15$ or are they going to be free to stick it to the modern warfare guys!?

I wish there were some more maps like Arica Harbor in Rush Mode. Just normal Rush Mode. That map illustrate the absolute awesomeness of the game with tank on tank battles, good sniping abilities and towards the end, excellent hand/hand assault stuff.

If anyone remembers playing desert combat, there was a map that was almost entirely either airplanes or armor. A very very small portion of it could reasonably be played on foot. I'd love a Rush Map that was so large, you had no choice but to armor up and just have large scale, 8 on 8 tank battles.

Nothing too exciting, but it's still free content, so thanks Dice.

I'm still looking forward to the patch and SPECACT DLC (PC). Hopefully some new maps soon, already bored with this game.
