The story of The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings is the focus of a new developer diary for the RPG sequel, revealing players will be able to import saves from The Witcher.

"There will be a mechanism for importing your status from the first game," one member of developer CD Projekt RED explains. "Also, players will see the choices they made in part one reflected in part two. For instance, certain characters from The Witcher might treat us differently depending on how we completed that game."

You'll no doubt be delighted to hear that "erotic relations" return, though RED claims they won't be "a mini-game, a gadget or something just for fun," saying "If these important relations are to be in the game, they need to be part of the drama that is playing out."

The Witcher 2 is due out on PC in North America between between January 1 and March 31, 2011, according to publisher Atari. Console editions might also arrive later.

Looks great, still need to get around playing the first. Good thing that I'll have enough time before this is released.

I tried so hard to get into the first game but between the technical issues, poor intro area and terrible voice acting I just haven't been able to stick with it more than a couple of hours.

The enhanced edition fixes the technical issues. As for the shitty intro, yeah, no getting around that. It's a shame it starts off so bad on the outskirts of Vizima & Kaer Morhan. I can vouch that the game gets infinitely better after the first 3 hours.

Didn't mind the voice acting, though. I liked it. Especially Triss, or maybe I was just staring at her chest the whole time that I didn't notice.
