Though the madness of E3 2010 doesn't kick off proper until June 15, today seems to be the day for its trailers, as Square Enix's Dues Ex: Human Revolution E3 2010 Trailer has now been joined by Activision's Transformers: War for Cybertron E3 2010 Trailer:

Coming to darn near every platform on June 22, Transformers: War for Cybertron's robotic shooting action is making its way to PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 thanks to High Moon Studios, with the Wii getting Next Level's Transformers: Cybertron Adventures plus Autobot and Decepticon-branded versions hitting Nintendo DS care of Vicarious Visions.

Shit yea. It's good to see a 'new' version of an old 'bot that doesn't look like some combination of horseshit and Evangelion.

i never really followed the comics or cartoons much but what is the purpose of them keeping their earth vehicle forms on cybertron?

Pure awesomeness, that's the reason. Given the choice of being able to turn into a tank at will, versus not being able to turn into a tank at will, which would you choose?

More people will be familiar with their earth forms would be my guess.

Honestly, I'm unsure. I swear I remember the Cybertron form of Bumblebee, for instance - being a yellow hover-taxi thing. The advantages of being a ground-based vehicle seem few in comparison to - oh, flying at will.

Either way, these versions beat the living fecal matter out of the ones from Bay's films. The hell were they thinking?
