The Mummy Movies Inspire Free-to-Play MMO

2
After announcing a free-to-play web-based Battlestar Galactica MMO earlier this year, Universal Partnerships & Licensing and Bigpoint have announced another free-to-play collaboration: The Mummy Online.

Based upon Universal Pictures' film franchise, The Mummy Online is described as "a free-to-play Action-RPG MMO game with adventure elements inspired by the films, players will take on heroic roles as adventure seekers with various talents and skills that will allow their characters to be unique within the MMO virtual world."

Disney Fairies: Pixie Hollow and Toy Story Mania: The Ride software veteran Schell Games is handling development of the project, which, much like Battlestar Galactica and Tiger Woods PGA Tour Online, will be a browser-based affair powered by Unity.

"Winter 2010" is the time. Bigpoint.com is the place. We'll leave the rest to you.

I'm waiting for the MMO where we all get to play venture capitalists gambling money on ill-conceived MMOs.
