Morning Discussion

I picked up the first pack last night, gave one of the maps a bash and was happy with the entertainment I received for pocket change. Tonight I'll work on the other and have a jolly good time. Marvellous.
Of course, Defense Grid is able to do this because it's split into separate, unrelated levels. With games such as Fallout 3, Borderlands or Oblivion, more expansive--and expensive--DLC makes the most sense. However, I always find it offputting to know $30 of DLC will soon be released for my brand new $40 game. I waited for Game of the Year editions before buying Oblivion and Fallout 3, and plan to do the same for Borderlands.
$10 is not a lot of money but it's past the point of a casual, impulse purchase for me.

We've been having connection issues at some major sites and we've been trying to figure out what's going on. The latest band-aid from engineering has been to dispatch a field tech to replace the ethernet cable between the smarjack and our equipment.
Now that's fine and dandy but I'm having trouble accepting this answer, and am looking for answers from the mighty shack networking experts.
They claim that in some cases, the ethernet cable is too short, and the connection is degrading because of this. @@ They claim by having the tech replace the 6 foot cable with a 25 foot cable and coil the cable over its self will resolve the issue.
My specialists threw a bunch of technobabble like impedance, frequency, and bit streams at me, and I think they are full of shit and want to prove it. Can I? Or should I just mind my place as a Tier II support technician and shut my mouth?

These are $2000+ routers that have a Cisco based IOS and I would think a network device that beefy would be able to handle any issues stemming from cable length.
