Free-to-Play Company of Heroes Invading America

Company of Heroes Online, a free-to-play

10
Company of Heroes Online, a free-to-play version of Relic's World War 2 real-time strategy Company of Heroes originally made for asian markets, will be launching in North America on PC this fall, publisher THQ announced today.

"Specialization, commander customization, and persistent progression" are promised, with optional microtransactions letting players choose to purchase upgrades and "special units" rather then earning them in the blood and muck and mire and misery of battle.

Six divisions are featured, "from the brutal German Blitzkrieg to the deadly efficient Allied Airborne, each with its own combat style and unique Commander Abilities."

So how will this free version differ from the retail version? Will there be any advantages/perks for people who actually own CoH and/or it's expansions?
