"Hardcore gamers are the best customers" for indie developers, writes Gratuitous Space Battles dev Cliff Harris in a recent blog post. Cliff posits that indie developers are far more likely to find success catering to "the forgotten minority" as they're enthusiastic, knowledgeable and grateful. It's an interesting read and brings to mind Stardock CEO Brad Wardell's old explanation of why Galactic Civilizations II and Sins of a Solar Empire were successful.
