The hair on the back of my head was raised but I was under an awning so I was kinda protected. Wowowo I had to tell someone so there ya go shack! :0

So the family converges in the kitchen to talk about how crazy that lightning clap was and to check whether anyone was hurt. We grabbed flashlights just in case and proceeded more or less as normal.
The next morning my dad goes out to do some morning chores in the yard and he comes back in kinda grim-faced. "Everyone needs to come see this." So we follow him out to the side of the house, and there we see a HUGE swath of the awning had been heavily charred. Our house not only got hit by lightning, it caught on fire! The torrential downpour put out the fire before very long, as near as we could tell. We were so very lucky.
