Prince of Persia Retro Hits iPhone, iPad at $1

Just in time for today's release of the Prince of Persia theatrical film, publisher Ubisoft has revamped Jordan Mechner's original action-adventure and released iPhone, iPod touch and iPad versions through iTunes.

Dubbed "Prince of Persia Retro," the 55.3 MB download is priced at 99¢ and "designed for both iPhone and iPad," meaning that the game will automatically detect which device it's running on and modify its control layout / on-screen graphics accordingly.

This is cool and all, but PoP Classic on XBLA is so much tighter. It's hard to go back to the original after playing so much of the excellent remake.

You have to admit, a dollar here and there is fine for this type of retro gaming. I wasn't very interested in buying this game yet again, but how can I resist for a dollar for about 20 mins of play only to never touch it again.
