A demo of Team 17's top-down shooter revamp Alien Breed: Impact is now available on Steam, along with a 10% pre-order discount that brings it from $14.99 to $13.49.

The demo contains a singleplayer "Prequel" mission from Impact, which is a tarted-up PC and PlayStation 3 version of the Unreal Engine 3-powered Alien Breed: Evolution--itself a revamp of Team17's classic Alien Breed.

The PC edition will be released exclusively for download via Steam on June 3. There's no word yet on when the PlayStation Network release for PS3 will arrive or its price.

Evolution was a really fun game on the 360, especially the co-op. Hoping to see another chapter come out soon if you're out there reading this, Team17.

Team17 made some great Amiga games way back (Breed Being one of them). Had no idea it has been updated for the 360. I will be getting this for sure on STEAM. For those of you with Steam and want a somewhat "same" game look at Shadowgrounds.. no where near as pretty, but fun, and same gameplay style.

Ah, Team17 did Amiga games? That explains a few things. Had a certain feel to the game and that would be why.
