League of Legends Coming to Mac

6
Riot Games' free-to-play Defense of the Ancients-esque strategy game League of Legends (PC) will be expanding to Mac this summer thanks to TransGaming Inc.

The Mac version will be powered by TransGaming's Cider Portability Engine. "Artwork, graphics, in-game items and controls will remain the same in the Mac version," the companies say, adding that "the Mac version of League of Legends will feature the same update and release schedule as its PC counterpart" and "all Mac users will be able to mingle freely with their fellow League of Legends players on PC. "

As with most free-to-play games, League of Legends utilizes an online store to sell additional in-game items and access to certain characters. Those that opt not to pay, meanwhile, have access to an ever-rotating selection of ten characters.
